Topps cards has announced it’s bringing the MLS to its lineup of sports cards with 2013 Major League Soccer. As more and more soccer fans are created in the United States, it’s only fitting that there would be an inclusion of this nature.
In each 24-pack box of ’13 MLS there will include two autograph cards and three relic cards. Good insertion rate on an introductory product. Each pack will contain 10 MLS cards and here are some of the included inserts:
Autographs:
- SuperDraft Autos: Top draft picks from the 2013 SuperDraft. Will include parallels, Gold (#/25), Black (#/10), and hobby only Red (#/10). Golazo (1/1).
- MLS Maestros Autos: Featuring the top MLS stars. Same colored parallels as above.
- Golden Boot Die-Cut autos: Featuring the top current and former goal scorers.
- Extra Time Redemptions: Transfers who make their debut during the ’13 MLS season, #/99.
Relics:
- Autographed relics: Green (#/75), Gold (#/50), Black multi-color prime (#/25), Red multi (#/5), Golazo (1/1).
- MLS Kits Relics: MLS kits relic Blue (#/49), Red (#/25), Silver Jumbo (#/5), Gold Jumbo (1/1)
Other notable inserts include, This is Soccer, which will have exciting action photos of players including shots on goal or celebrating goals. There are auto’d version numbered to 25.
And with a bit of an Archives flair, the 1978 Topps EPL soccer inserts will feature top MLS players featured on ’78 Topps English Premier League designs. The auto’d version of those will be limited to only 25 copies each.
Mini cards and MLS Rivalries cards round out the insert department, and with a 200 base-card set, also expect short prints and variation cards. The base cards also feature paralleling that includes, Blue (#/50), Gold (#/25), Black (#/10), and hobby only 1/1 Golazo and Printing plates.
