As the sports card Industry Summit was winding down, some of the information from sports card companies was in regard to product checklists. There is definitely a need for checklists, but how soon can companies get them out and how do they want to distribute them?
There are definitely plenty of places you can find them; sites like Sports Card Radio, Beckett, and Group Break Checklists have all made finding checklists for your favorite products available, but how easy to the companies themselves make it? Topps has direct links to checklists, In the Game has them as well, but for sites like Panini America and Upper Deck you have to do a bit more digging.
I asked Twitter if checklists were necessary in the buying decision of a product and the responses were mixed:
@SportsCardMag some like the mystery of not knowing and the surprise of what they may pull, but resale potential b4 opening now is a factor

@SportsCardMag @ChecklistsforUS I will never buy a product w/o a cl bc I wanna know what I’m in for.

@SportsCardMag @ChecklistsforUS yup. I never look at them. I just collect it

@SportsCardMag @ChecklistsforUS CL is not determining factor, but I prefer set w/high chance of auto pulls per box/case and retro look

@SportsCardMag @ChecklistsforUS I just buy and rip. I get what I get and enjoy what I do get

How do you feel about checklists? How early do you think they should be released?
