Brian Gray announced Friday, on Freedom Cardboard, that 2012 Leaf Metal Baseball will now contain, “a mixture of both marked hot boxes and unmarked hot boxes.” This change is based off of feedback Leaf Trading Cards received from collectors busting its Metal Football product.
On Metal Football, our feeback was that 5-6 box customer stepped up to the case level with the added incentive to find market hot boxes. They could then open these or resell them depending on their collecting goals.
Gray believes this will benefit all of the channels involved with product from distributors, to the small collector. If you knew which box was a ‘hot-box’ would you take a chance and open it, or would you sell it?
